Social Proof

Social proof is evidence that other people have used and endorsed a product or service. Includes testimonials, reviews, case studies, client logos, user counts, and specific results.

Real social proof (with names, faces, specifics) converts. Generic social proof (‘trusted by thousands’) doesn’t. Direct response copywriters use social proof heavily because it substitutes for the trust a personal referral would create.
