Meta Description

A meta description is a short HTML snippet (up to about 155 characters) that summarizes a page. Google displays it under the title in search results when it matches the query well. It doesn’t directly affect rankings but heavily influences click-through rate.

Every published page should have a manually written meta description that includes the primary keyword and a reason to click. Auto-generated ones almost always underperform.
