Topical Authority

Topical authority is a search engine’s assessment of how comprehensively and credibly a site covers a specific topic. Built through consistent, deep content across every meaningful aspect of the topic plus internal linking that reinforces the topic cluster.

Topical authority matters more with AI answer engines than it did with traditional Google ranking. Answer engines look for sites that clearly own a topic before citing them as sources. Scattered generalist sites lose to focused specialists.
